What is Orthotics?

Orthotics is the branch of rehabilitation medicine that deals with the design, fabrication, and fitting of custom-made or custom-fitted external devices. These devices, known as orthoses, support, correct, or protect a person's musculoskeletal system.

At Prime Point Wellness Centre, we provide orthotic care for patients of all ages, from children with congenital conditions to adults recovering from injury or managing chronic conditions. Every device is custom-fitted by our qualified clinicians to ensure optimal comfort, function, and outcomes.

Our Orthotic Fitting Process

Every patient receives a thorough, patient-centered journey from assessment to follow-up.

01

Clinical Assessment

A qualified orthotist evaluates the patient's condition, medical history, and mobility goals. This includes physical examination, range of motion testing, and discussion of functional needs.

02

Measurement & Casting

We take precise measurements, casts, or 3D scans of the affected limb or joint to ensure a perfect fit. This step is critical for comfort and effectiveness.

03

Fabrication

Our technicians fabricate the custom device using high-quality materials and international standards. Each device is built for durability, comfort, and function.

04

Fitting & Training

The orthosis is fitted, adjusted, and tested. Patients receive training on proper use, care, and maintenance. Gait or movement training may be provided as needed.

05

Follow-up Care

We schedule regular follow-ups to monitor progress, make adjustments, and ensure the device continues to meet the patient's needs as they grow, heal, or change.
